Get the most out of work with social performance management...

No Network Required!

Got kids? Well if you do, you know two things:

1. Everything they own requires batteries
2. Despite the hundreds of weekend trips you make to your local price club to buy the extra large econopack of batteries, you never seem to have enough!

(mental note: need to swing by Price Club on way home from work to get batteries)

Can you stop this vicious cycle? Well, not really…because no matter how great the gadget, you’re at the mercy of the batteries to make them come alive!

Unfortunately, many online services are fraught with the same limitation…but instead of needing batteries to make them work, they rely on forced networks.

Think about it. Can you really derive value from Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter (all of which I love) without first building your own network of people who also use the service? And what if the people you really want to connect with don’t have an online presence on these services or even worse, have yet to join the social networking movement?!?

Well, at Rypple when it comes to feedback, we have a saying: “No Network Required!”

Think about it…in the real world when you want to ask one of your friends, coworkers, or clients for feedback, you don’t ask them for permission first. You just ask! Why should a online service be any different? In fact, according to social media gurus like Joshua Porter, the way leading online retail giants like Amazon.com have become so popular is by building a service that works the same way people actually behave in real life; a mantra we repeat every day here at Rypple!

Some first time Rypple users are surprised that we don’t espouse the same “friend accumulation” paradigm that other service do. At first, it wasn’t uncommon to hear comments like “I really want to use Rypple, but I can’t because I haven’t built my network yet”. Little did they know that all they needed in order to ask someone for feedback was their email address! (funny though how web-perceptions so quickly become reality).

That means you can ask ANYONE you interact with, whether they’re your friends, mentors, managers, reports, or even a new client or prospect you just met. And the best part is, they don’t need to be Rypple users to give you feedback!

In short, Rypple isn’t about scoring perect 10′s from the judges at the “social network pose-down“, it’s about real, honest, and actionable feedback.

So cast aside your social network fatigue my friends and join the Rypple movement! All you need is the desire to learn, improve, and share. No network required!
