Introducing Jordan
I’d like to introduce myself to the Rypple Community. I’m Jordan. I’ve done a lot of different things on the web over the last couple years. Here are a few interesting facts about me:
- I started my first website before I was 10.
- I ran a small online advertising business when I was 12.
- I’ve worked for 8 different software companies, doing marketing, customer relations and sales.
- I’m an avid Mac user, and I enjoy trying new software.
- I believe in good customer service, and always put customers first.
- I enjoy building and fixing things. I’ve built sheds, repaired decks, and am currently working on a Gazebo.
- I eat Pizza and Ice Cream almost every day.
I had lunch with Daniel a few months ago and have been excited about Rypple since. I’ve always enjoyed getting feedback from peers, but never knew how to ask.
I started working for Rypple a few weeks ago, and have thus far focused on many different things. Officially, Nathaniel and I are responsible for Outreach. Over the last couple days though, I’ve been focusing on re-networking the Rypple Office. Feedback has become an indispensable part of my workflow since I started using Rypple.
I’ve found it really interesting to work in the office with so many talented and interesting individuals. In particular, I’ve found the Agile Software Development process to be very interesting, since much of the work I’ve done in the past has been over the internet, rather than face-to-face. Agile Software Development focuses heavily on openness and communication, and the Daily Standup meetings help reinforce communication between all parts of the team.
I’ve also enjoyed hearing each member of the team set personal goals for the day, and then reflecting on yesterdays goals during the Daily Standups.
I plan to continue sharing my thoughts over the next few months on the blog, and on our new Twitter account.
