A round up of HR Tech from the blogs
Though I provided my own perspective on HR Tech, I recommend getting context from the experts who provided more informed commentary. I met some but not all of these folks during the course of the conference. It’s awesome to see they are as thoughtful and friendly in person as on their blogs.
- For a thorough run-down, start with Mark Stelzner’s 5 Lessons from HR Technology 2010. He covers content, set up and the larger topic of attendant behavior. The comments are interesting as well, most agree with his points wholeheartedly. Dwane Lay provided multiple updates throughout his trip, so it’s best to start at the beginning and work your way through!
- Steve Boese makes it a bit easier for us, summarizing the conference in two words: Simplicity and LinkedIn. Trish McFarlane agrees with Steve on simplicity, but picks treating employees like adults as the second theme that emerged from HR Tech.
- Andrew McIlvaine covers a specific session with his Great HCM Debate post. It’s a great read that digs deeper into particulars of a discussion between Gartner managing vice president Jim Holincheck and Knowledge Infusion founder and CEO Jason Averbook.
- A personal HR practitioner’s take comes from April Dowling, a friendly member of the HR blogging scene whose perspective comes from someone using the software day to day. Shauna Moerke provides an alternative perspective, again from a day to day user of HR technology.
- One of the best things about HR Tech was the mix of technology providers and end users. My experience tends towards startup conferences where the focus on cutting edge technology and design can sometimes overshadow how people actually use products. I know team Rypple was able to connect with a number of HR professionals who provided feedback on our product, I hope others found the same.
