The New Rypple Feed

You may have noticed that the Rypple Feed had a huge makeover recently. With the new internals, visual design, and wording, the new feed will make it easier for you to keep track of what’s happening in Rypple.

The feed changed in many small and big ways. See the difference below!

Comments now appear in the feed, which bubble up events and allow users to follow active topics throughout the day. The visual design is cleaner and simpler, with less fonts, colors and lines. The layout is simpler; all extra information is now in the footer. You can now bask in the glory of the huge badges and the wording is clearer. The feed is also noticeably faster.

I’ve been working on the feed for three weeks. And being a co-op student, it’s pretty awesome working on something that has such a huge influence on Rypple – it’s the first thing you see when you log in and it’s in two other places. The feed wasn’t all my work though; Alfred did a great job on the backend work, while I made things pretty and presentable. The feed was even demoed in our HR Tech Conference presentation. Thankfully, no bugs showed up live (phew).

Overall, I’m pretty happy with the design. I bet it could be further improved. Nevertheless, it’s a good improvement on the old feed. Hope you all like it.
