Get the most out of work with social performance management...

Happy employees spend 80% of week on work

According to a recent Forbes article, the least happy workers reported spending 40% of their week doing what they’re there to do, compared with happy workers, who reported spending 80% of their week on work related tasks.

January is a very busy time for all: after the many holiday parties, family, and new years eve celebrations, comes resolutions, routine and back to the office. I am sure many people are trying to figure out how to be happier at work in 2011, and that is an awesome resolution because there is nothing worse than being miserable, going to work everyday. I bet the 67% of people who don’t get enough positive feedback are hoping this year will be different too.

Motivating your team is going to be very important, especially at the beginning; and just so all managers out there know: money is not the best incentive! Many awesome thought leaders out there are agreeing with Dan Pink when he says: meaning is the new money.

So why not start trying? Happiness is contagious, as we know, and it increases productivity, less sick days and bring out the good side of people, why not start trying to make a difference in your workplace?

If you are still having trouble figuring out how to be happy at work by the end of January, join us and Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos, for a webinar on Delivering Happiness.
