Only 49% satisfied with recognition at work
According to a recent Gallup: Work and Workplace survey, 49% of employees are completely satisfied with the recognition they receive at work.
Recognition is one of the most important aspects to an awesome team and productive workplace. I think we can all agree that it feels fantastic to be recognized for our accomplishments and we work hard to achieve that feeling again and again.
We know that happy employees spend 80% of their week on work, so shouldn’t we all strive to create happy employees? HBR found that employees’ engagement and motivation are strongly affected by how often they receive recognition for their work. This should be something that managers and co-workers spend time on; developing the skills to create an environment of constant and authentic recognition. You don’t want your employees or co-workers to be part of the 17% who leave their job due to insufficient recognition!
