1 in 5 employees are highly disengaged

According to Corporate Leadership Council research, since the first half of 2007, the number of highly disengaged employees has doubled from 1 in 10 to 1 in 5 (Corporate Executive Board Views).

Layoffs, stress, budget cuts – the recession has been one of the hardest times for the people in our world today. As 2011 came around, we sought out signs of recovery, however, it’s hard to be optimistic in times of chaos and despair. The mix of job insecurity and co-workers being let go has left us all with little hope for our personal futures. It’s no wonder employees have become disconnected at work, there’s so much to fear!

If employees and managers are so caught up worrying about the recession around them and not focusing on their career, of course they’re gonna be disengaged!
