3 Questions with Rypple Superstar Marcus Gosling

With 20 + years experience in the space, Marcus Gosling is leading the pack in design, innovating new technologies, products and services.  One of his many claims to fame includes co-founding IMVU with thought leader Eric Ries (author and the creator of the “Lean Startup” methodology).

We are so lucky to have him on our team!  I sat down with Marcus to ask him a few questions about the man behind our UX and Design.

What are you passionate about?

The ‘socialization’ of software has been amazing. I sometimes think of myself as a value and motivation ‘plumber:)

How do you use Rypple?

My favorite feature so far is Thanks. People are using it to express themselves and make people feel good about their work. We spend 8+ hours of our day working, anything that makes that time more rewarding is huge.  We have learned a lot. I think our approach to creating a social platform at work is powerful because we are looking at what is compelling and valuable in the work context. A straight translation of Consumer Social patterns to the workplace is simplistic.

How do you plan on changing the world?

Great tools move mountains.

Prior to joining Rypple, Marcus co-founded imvu, a 3D avatar online community with over 50 million registered users, and enjoyed a spell as a design consultant at IDEO. Originally a native of Ireland, Marcus likes to work on and ride shiny lightweight bicycles, and lives in the foggy redwoods above Palo Alto, CA with his family and felines.
